Police respond to pair of downtown break-ins

The Prince George RCMP responded to a couple of break-ins in the early morning hours of Monday morning.

The first incident occurred at 2:50 am on 1249 4th Ave at Walk Rite shoes when police were notified that the front door was broken into with a hole large enough for a person to enter.

RCMP attended the scene within minutes but were unable to locate the suspect that stole $200 from the till and possibly some shoes.

Security claims they saw a person dressed in all black riding a bicycle in the area but did not know if that was the suspect involved.

Then around 3:07 am, police received a report of a break-in at Surplus Herby’s on 1175 2nd Ave, where witnesses claim a person was smashing the front-side glass of the business.

Upon arrival, police were unable to locate the suspect that likely took off on a bicycle after stealing several air rifles.

Surveillance at the location showed a male wearing:

  • Black balaclava
  • Camouflage green jacket
  • Dark coloured pants
  • Thick, light brown and yellow mittens

Both files are currently under investigation, RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact the RCMP.
