Soltis named City Hall Head Honcho

A new city manager has been named in Prince George.

Manager of Corporate Services Kathleen Soltis has been given the top job at city hall.

She will replace Beth James who left the city back in January.

Mayor Lyn Hall says they decided to rehire for the city manager position so quickly to create stability.

“Not only within the organization but also within the community and so council felt that this was the opportune time to move forward,” says Hall, “we wanted to get this acting position really taken a look at and make sure we moved fairly quickly on it.”

Soltis has worked for the city for the past 29 years, 17 as Manager of Corporate Services.

She will receive an annual salary of $222,000 plus $500 for a vehicle allowance and has a three year period with a one-year renewal option.
