That’s a wrap! A Great North Christmas filming now completed

Shooting for ‘A Great North Christmas’, a film set in Prince George featuring landmarks across the city, has come to an end.

“It’s going to reignite the film industry for Prince George,” explained Producer, Norm Coyne, “this is such a beautiful love letter to the region.”

Yesterday (Monday), Baker Street Cinema finished up filming after getting some birds-eye-view shots of the community using a drone.

Coyne says the film is expected to be released in November and adds the support from PG residents and businesses was imperative to the success of the movie.

“Everyone is so committed to it and it’s not like a big Hollywood blockbuster, nobody is making a million dollars, everyone is just in it because they’re passionate and want to be part of this amazing project,” added Coyne.

Filming during a pandemic was a new experience for the film crew, as it made things a little different.

“Obviously that piece of it made things a little more challenging but paying attention to COVID-19 protocols was a small price to pay for such an amazing film,” he added.

While Coyne didn’t get into specifics, he says they are working on some upcoming projects.
