The Prince George Cougars play the Victoria Royals tonight in Kelowna. Both teams are 0-1. The Cougars began their season with a 5-4 loss to the Blazers Saturday night in Kamloops. Logan Stankoven opened and closed the scoring. He notched the game-winner midway through the third period snapping a 4-4 tie. The Cougars, in their first game in over a year, held period leads of 3-1 and 4-3.

NHL: (North Division)

None of the Canadian NHL teams were in action Sunday.

Games tonight include Edmonton at Toronto and Winnipeg at Calgary.

On Saturday, the Leafs beat the Oilers 4-3 in OT and the Flames doubled the Jets 4-2.

The (16-18-3) Vancouver Canucks host Calgary Wednesday before heading out on a 7-game road trip.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings will open their 20-game, 5-week BCHL schedule on Saturday against the Chilliwack Chiefs. The Spruce Kings play the Chiefs and the Merritt Centennials 10 times each with all games starting at 5 p.m. at the Chilliwack Coliseum.
