The PG Cougars will visit the Kamloops Blazers tonight (Thursday) as part of the league’s revised schedule.

WHL: (BC Division)

The Prince George Cougars game scheduled for last night (Wednesday) against the Vancouver Giants was postponed out of an abundance of caution.
The Cougars games scheduled for Friday, April 2nd, and Saturday, April 10th against the Kelowna Rockets have also been postponed by the WHL.
The league has announced the suspension of team activities for the Kelowna Rockets for a minimum of 14 days following six additional positive COVID-19 tests.
The positive test results belong to two Hockey Staff members and four players on the Rockets within the Team Cohort.

(The six positive test results received follow one positive test result which was received on Tuesday)

 

Tyler Brennan of the Prince George Cougars is one one three goalies named to represent Canada at the 2021 Under-18 World Hockey Championship.

The tournament will run from April 26th to May 6th in Frisco and Plano, Texas. The 25-man Canadian roster also includes eight defensemen and 14 forwards.

The Vancouver Canucks game scheduled for last night against the Calgary Flames was postponed because two Vancouver players and one member of the Canucks coaching staff tested positive for COVID-19.

Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko has signed a five-year, $25-million extension with Vancouver.

The Prince George Spruce Kings begin their 20-game, 5-week BCHL schedule Saturday against the Chilliwack Chiefs. The Spruce Kings play the Chiefs and the Merritt Centennials 10 times each with all games starting at 5 p.m. at the Chilliwack Coliseum.

The Toronto Blue Jays open their season today against the Yankees in New York.

The Jays will play home games in April and May in Dunedin, Florida but are hoping to return to Toronto’s Rogers Centre at some point in 2021.
