WHL: (BC Division)

Victoria Royals  3  Prince George Cougars  2  (OT)

Brayden Tracey opened and closed the scoring as the Anaheim Ducks first-round pick tallied the winner at 4:36 of overtime. Jonny Hooker scored both goals for the Cougars, who outshot the Royals 45-30. Connor Martin got the win in net with Tyler Brennan taking the loss.  It was the third straight game P.G. did not pick up a victory or a power-play goal. The (1-2-1-1) Cougars play the (4-1) Vancouver Giants Saturday and Monday in Kamloops. The Giants will face the (1-3-1) Royals tonight in Kelowna.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings play the Merritt Centennials tonight at 5:00 in Chilliwack. The 1-1 Spruce Kings beat Merritt 3-2 on Sunday.

NHL: (North Division)

A total of 21 players on the Vancouver Canucks have now tested positive for COVID-19, in addition to four staff members.

Three of the 21 are from the taxi squad and one additional player is considered a close contact.

Right-winger Jake Virtanen was added to the list Tuesday.

It is unclear when the Canucks will play their next game but it will not be this week.

There were 9 Tuesday games in the NHL, none involving Canadian teams. Tonight, Edmonton is at Ottawa and Montreal plays at Toronto.

Curling:

Canada’s Brendan Bottcher of Canada is 7-2 at the world men’s curling championship in Calgary. On Tuesday, Canada beat Italy 7-4 and China 6-5.
