12 active COVID-19 cases at Site C

The number of active cases of COVID-19 at the Site C industrial project in Fort St. John has climbed to twelve.

B.C. Hydro confirms a total of 82 cases of COVID-19 have been identified at the project since March 2020, 70 have been cleared.

23 exposed employees are being monitored and isolating on site.

The company says it has been in contact with Northern Health as contact tracing and containment measures continue.

Workers are required to isolate if they show any symptoms as described by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control including sneezing, sore throat, muscle aches, headaches, cough, fever or shortness of breath.

The AstraZeneca vaccination program for workers 40 and older will resume tomorrow (Thursday).
