Stolen vehicle recovered one day after reported missing

It took just one day for a stolen vehicle to be reunited with the rightful owner.

Mounties recovered a stolen vehicle on Saturday, reported missing less than 24 hours earlier from the 2000 block of Victoria Street.

The man had stepped away from his vehicle to dispose of garbage, Constable Jennifer Cooper says, when an unknown man got into the vehicle and drove off.

Cooper reports the vehicle was found the next morning in a parking lot on the 2100 block of Ferry Avenue.

The driver and passenger, known to police, were arrested without incident.

They have been released pending future court dates.
