WHL: (BC Division)

The (6-7-1-1) Prince George Cougars, with seven games remaining, play the Victoria Royals tonight in Kamloops. The (1-13-1) Royals have lost 10 straight. P.G. is 3-1 this season against Victoria. The Cougars are coming off Wednesday’s 5-1 victory over the Kamloops Blazers.

In the B.C. Division of the WHL Thursday, Kelowna beat Vancouver 4-3.

The Prince George Spruce Kings battle the Chiefs tonight at 5:00 in Chilliwack. The (10-3-0-1) Spruce Kings have won five straight and are a point ahead of the (10-5) Chiefs in the 3-team Chilliwack Pod with six games left. Prince George is coming off Wednesday’s 7-0 triumph over Merritt while Chilliwack beat Merritt last night 5-3.

IIHF U18 World Hockey Championship: (Group A in Plano, Texas)

Canada plays Switzerland today. The Canadian team is 2-0 with victories over Sweden (12-1) and Latvia (4-2). Goalie Tyler Brennan of the PG Cougars is on the Canadian team but has not yet played.

 

NFL:

Five quarterbacks went in the first 15 picks of the NFL draft. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence went to the Jacksonville Jaguars first overall followed by BYU’s Zach Wilson to the New York Jets and North Dakota State’s Trey Lance to the San Francisco 49ers. The Chicago Bears traded up nine spots with the New York Giants to draft Ohio State QB Justin Fields with the No. 11 overall pick while the New England Patriots took Mac Jones of Alabama at #15.

The (26-37) Raptors, with just 9 games left, visit Utah Saturday, LA Lakers Sunday, and the LA Clippers Tuesday.
