Chilliwack Chiefs  3  Prince George Spruce Kings  0
(Mathieu Caron made 25 saves for the shutout. The (12-6) Chiefs move into first place in the 3-team Chilliwack Pod, a point ahead of (11-5-0-1) Spruce Kings. Chilliwack has two games remaining and Prince George three. The Spruce Kings play Merritt Wednesday and Friday before concluding its season on Sunday against Chilliwack)

WHL: (BC Division)

The (7-7-2-1) Prince George Cougars play the (8-2-1) Rockets tonight in Kelowna. The Cougars are riding a 4-game point streak but are 0-2 against Kelowna. The Rockets are battling the (14-4) Kamloops Blazers for the best winning percentage in the B.C. Division. The Blazers beat the Victoria Royals 5-2 Monday night. The Cougars, with just five games left, will also meet the (10-8) Vancouver Giants Wednesday in Kamloops. Prince George beat Vancouver 5-2 on Sunday.

Taylor Gauthier of the P.G. Cougars is the WHL Goalie of the Week. In 3 games, all wins, Gauthier posted a 1.33 goals-against-average and a .958 save percentage.

Canada is 3-5 after a 10-4 victory today (Tuesday) over Italy.

Earlier:

Canada’s Kerri Einarson ended a four-game losing streak with an 8-4 victory over South Korea at the women’s world curling championship in Calgary. Canada is a long way from the playoffs with a record of 2-5.
