Fatal motorcycle crash involving 65-year-old man leads to police reminder

Slow down!

That’s the message from the Prince George RCMP following a pair of recent crashes involving motorcycles.

Just after 8:30 pm on May 11th, police responded to an incident on Highway 97 south near the Woodpecker rest stop.

A motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve in the road and entered the ditch.

Emergency crews transported the 65-year-old man to hospital who later succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier that day, police went to a crash on Foothills Boulevard near Cranbrook Hill Road.

A Kawasaki motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and struck the centre median, causing the bike to roll and eject the driver.

Emergency crews transported the 19-year old man to the hospital for treatment.

The detachment would like to remind drivers motorcycle season is upon us and to double-check for them before making a turn.
