Hospice Colour Walk in PG enjoying another successful year

The Prince George Hospice Society’s 3rd annual Colour Walk continues to pick up steam.

It has raised over $30,000 so far, however, organizations like Vista Radio are challenging residents to double that total.

Executive Director, Donna Flood told MyPGNow.com she is elated with the early results.

“This colour walk has already surpassed what we would have hoped. Seeing the number of people that are out there walking, talking and sharing their journey on social media and remember these are people that don’t even know each other. Now, they are connecting because some of them always see each other now at some 0f the parks.”

“I encourage anyone to go on to the colour walk’s Facebook page and just see all the stories and the pictures and the joy the people are having participating in this. It’s just awesome.”

Local residents are asked to run 100 kilometres during the month of May.

One of the feel-good stories this year is Mrs. Doucette’s Brave Broncos, who are the top fundraising team, raising over $3,000 so far.

The team consists of children between Grades one and three from Buckhorn Elementary School who are led by Nicole Doucette.

They are currently walking five to six laps each school day.

On top of that, the class has committed to walk an extra 100 km with their families at home.

All funds raised will support exterior upgrades to the Rotary Hospice House.
