Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George is promoting a somewhat new type of mentoring program.
The agency is pairing seniors up with children for a “Grandparent Match” program.
Executive Director Tim Bennett says this is similar to the match programs they already provide.
“While its really a new aspect of our program,” says Bennett, “it really ties in with our traditional program of matching caring responsible mentors with children and youth living in our communities.”
Bennett says this new program came from a question posed by a mother on Hell Yeah Prince George looking for a senior for her son to interact with.
Bennett says those interested in signing up are asked to contact the Big Brothers Big Sisters Office.
