(The Maple Leafs still lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 with Game 6 Saturday night (4:30 PT) in Montreal)

Carolina  4  Nashville  3  (OT)
(The Hurricanes win the series 4-2 and will play the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round)

–There is one contest tonight (Friday) in the Stanley Cup playoffs and that is Minnesota at Vegas (6:00 PT) in the 7th and deciding game. The winner advances to round two against the Colorado Avalanche.

–Former Prince George Cougars coach Wade Klippenstein has been promoted by the Colorado Avalanche from scout to director of amateur scouting. The 51-year-old Klippenstein has been with the Avs organization since 2016-17.

A couple of PG Cougars continue to catch the eye of pro scouts.

Defenceman Ethan Samson is 92nd among North American Skaters in the Final Rankings for this year’s NHL Draft giving him a 3rd Round grade.

Taylor Gauthier ranks 18th out of 32 North American goaltenders listed.

This year’s draft will be held on July 23rd and 24th.
