(The Canadiens win the series 4-3 to advance to the second round against the Jets starting Wednesday in Winnipeg. The Maple Leafs haven’t won a playoff series in 17 years since 2004. They have eight straight losses in series-clinching games. And they’ve lost a winner-take-all game in four straight postseasons: three Games 7 and a Game 5 in the qualifying round last year against Columbus)

(The best-of-seven series is tied 1-1)

There is just one NHL playoff game tonight (Tuesday): Tampa Bay Lightning at the Carolina Hurricanes (4:30 PT). Tampa won the opener in the best-of-seven series 2-1.

There are three NBA playoff games tonight: Boston at Brooklyn (4:30 PT), Portland at Denver (6:00), and LA Lakers at Phoenix  (7:00). The Nets lead the Celtics 3-1, the Trail Blazers and Nuggets are tied 2-2 while the Lakers and Suns are even 2-2.
