New short fictional film showcases beauty of Prince George

A new short film showcasing Prince George will soon be presented on Telus on Demand and the Telus Storyhive Youtube channel, which has over 130k followers.

Ze Helios, Producer and Director of ‘The Vintage Diary’ won an award by Telus Storyhive that provided funding for the project.

The story is a 22-minute fictional narrative documentary, that Helios says many elderly Prince George residents might feel a connection to.

“The narrative of the film connects to some of the people who were here 60 to 100 years ago, and shows how the pioneers that got here started their businesses,” he explained.

He says he created this work to showcase the beautiful side of Prince George and all the great things it has to offer.

“I just know people keep putting the city down and they have a negative point of view but I wanted to show the beautiful side of the city, rather than concentrate on the negative side as everybody does, there’s a lot here to do and there’s a lot of amazing people here,” he explained.

Helios says he was planning on creating a 10-15 minute film, but he kept getting more and more inspiration to add additional scenes into the project.

While there is talk about having a public showcase of the film, Helios says he doesn’t believe current health protocols will allow for it.

This movie will be available at noon on June 29th, the film’s trailer is now available on the Telus Storyhive Youtube channel.
