Five people arrested after shots fired in Williams Lake

The Williams Lake RCMP received a shots fired call Monday evening coming from a residence in the 1900 block of South Lakeside Drive.

When officers arrived, they attended and set up containment in the area with support from the dog service team.

According to police, verbal callouts were made and four people came out and taken into custody without incident.

In addition, police then entered the home and found one more person inside.

Officers located two shotguns and multiple rounds of ammunition after a warrant was obtained.

“This residence is known to police, and is associated to gang activity,” said Staff Sargent Del Byron.

“Williams Lake RCMP remain committed to gang suppression.”

All five suspects were arrested and could face firearm-related charges.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
