Cineplex Theatre in PG reopening on Tuesday

Moviegoers in Prince George can enjoy the big screen once again.

The Cineplex location is re-opening on Tuesday after an eight-month closure.

Famous Players 6 GM, Samantha Auger believes they have weathered the worst of the pandemic.

“I really don’t think we are going to close again given that vaccination rates are up and cases are down so we are really excited to have some sense of normalcy again for sure. From going to being open 365 days a year to being closed has been quite a shock so we are really excited to be open.”

Auger is excited for the summer with movies such as Fast 9, Wonder Woman, and Black Widow coming to the theatre.

“We are just really excited to get everyone back into watching movies as that has been our focus for the last little while.”

Dr. Bonnie Henry noted fewer infections reflect the power of vaccines, with nearly 73 percent of eligible residents aged 12 and up have had their first shot.

The theatre opens to the public at 3 pm on Tuesday.

Movies to be shown at the start of the reopening include:

  • Godzilla
  • Peter Rabbit
  • A Quiet Place 2
  • The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard
  • The Conjuring II – The Devil Made Me Do It
