Grade 5 students create music video based on 7 teachings

A group of Van Bien Elementary School Grade 5 students put together a music video based on family, culture, courage, respect, truth, and honesty.

Indigenous Educators Katheren Eddy and Rhona Girard say they were inspired by a video made by students in Toronto.

“I showed the Grade 5’s the video and said, “You guys can totally do this…” They agreed and accepted the challenge. It was helpful that I had a connection to the sound production industry and was able to reach out for support in this endeavour. We couldn’t have done this without The Family Man and his partners.” said Eddy.

Great North Studio helped complete this project for free and provided an original composition for the video, which was written and composed by James Eddy (The Family Man).

“This video and song was a great experience not only for the kids but for the team here at Great North Sound Studio,” says the Family Man.

“We would like to thank all the school staff and parents for their support in helping make this project come to life. Together we can bring about change. Stand up, stand tall, and stay loud!” he added.
