CN Centre parking lot hosts first dose vaccine clinic

Northern Health is offering a drive-thru style COVID-19 vaccine clinic in the CN Centre parking lot.

The clinic started administering vaccines yesterday (Tuesday) from 3 pm- 8 pm, and will be working the same hours today and tomorrow.

The clinic will only be offering first doses for residents 12 and up, and has the capacity to vaccinate around 200 people per day.

“People stay in their vehicles, hopefully air-conditioned, while they’re getting vaccinated and they stay in their vehicles while they’re monitored after,” explained Northern Health Spokesperson, Eryn Collins.

Appointments are not required but residents are still being urged to register on the GetVaccinated website.

“The vaccination team’s advice is to grab a Slurpee or an ice cream cone and come on down, the team is ready to vaccinate you at your convenience,” she said.

Meanwhile, another first dose clinic will be available on July 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th at the old Le Chateau location in Pine Centre Mall.

That clinic will be available from noon to 4 pm each day.

“This is among our efforts to make sure vaccine opportunities are as accessible and convenient as possible,” added Collins.
