Prince George goes three weeks without a single COVID-19 case

Cases of COVID-19 across Northern Health are continuing to drop.

The Prince George Local Health area has gone three consecutive weeks without seeing a single case, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control.

No cases were reported in the area, which encompasses Mackenzie and the Robson Valley, from June 20th to July 10th, after seeing seven cases the week prior.

As of July 12th, 71% of residents 12 and up have received a first dose of a vaccine in the Prince George area, that number dips to 61% for the Nechako area.

Meanwhile, the Nechako Local Health area and Peace River South Local Health area saw one case between July 4th to 10th.

During this time, Peace River North saw two cases, as 51% of those 12+ have received one dose of a vaccine.

Additionally, Quesnel didn’t see a single case from July 4th to 10th, along with the Smithers and Upper Skeena regions.

63% of residents 12+ have received a first jab in Quesnel, while that number rises to 76% in Upper Skeena.
