Weekly average of COVID-19 cases in BC closes in on 400

BC Health Officials report 395 new COVID-19 cases in the province, including 15 in Northern Health and 187 in Interior Health.

This brings the province’s rolling average from 196 on August 3rd to 383 today (Tuesday) which is nearly double in one week.

There are 3,284 active cases in B.C., with 111 of them in the north and a whopping 1,893 in the Interior.

Of the active cases, 71 individuals are in hospital and 23 are in intensive care.

Meanwhile, 83 % of all eligible adults in the province have received their first dose of a vaccine while 72.5% are fully vaccinated with both shots.

72.5% of BC adults and 70.6% of those 12 and older are now fully vaccinated.

82.1% of those 12 and up and 83% of adults in the province received their first vaccine.
