Ever since the tragic fire that left the Handsome Cabin Boy Tattoo studio engulfed in flames on July 20th, community members have been working together to raise funding for the business.
Recently, Gold Tooth Grin Tattoos hosted a Flash Day for the shop and raised over $7,015.
Throughout the course of the day, 56 tattoos and 30 piercings were completed, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the business.
According to the Shop’s Facebook page, numerous cash donations were donated as well.
Additionally, on the day of the fire, a group of concerned citizens started a GoFundMe page to help the artists and business owner get back on their feet.
Within the first day, thousands of dollars were raised for the shop.
The page has now surpassed its $20,000 fundraising goal and currently stands at $22,375.
According to the page, these funds will help the four working artists pay for their priceless artwork, supplies, ink, merchandise, artifacts, and books.
Police determined about $200,000 in damage was done to the shop by the fire, which has been deemed to be ‘suspicious’.
