Live fire training taking place at the Prince George Airport

UPDATE 4:00 pm Friday

Live fire training will now be taking place at the Prince George Airport (YXS) on Saturday, August 21, 2021.

Locals are reminded these fires pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas.

These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification.

These fires may produce dark smoke in and around the airport area.

Wednesday

The Prince George Airport Authority said there will be live fire training taking place at the airport on Monday (August 23).

People are being reminded that the fires are no threat to the surrounding areas and that the flames are held in self-contained training facilities being used for fire training and certification.

Dark smoke is expected to be seen around the area.
