Three contract workers have tested positive for COVID-19 according to Barkerville Gold.
The company states on its Facebook page the workers at their Wells location were in the process of beginning their rotation and were tested as they arrived on site yesterday (Monday).
The affected workers and their direct contacts are now in quarantine.
One of them is showing symptoms of fatigue and aches, while the other two are asymptomatic at this point.
Barkerville Gold noted the employees had potential interactions with the community as well, as they were staying at the Jack O Clubs General prior to arriving on-site for their shift.
The company’s Medical Director has been notified and contacted Northern Health as a result.
