The Cats won 5-1 Friday at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena and 3-1 and 4-2 the previous weekend at CN Centre.

Koehn Ziemmer notched a goal and added an assist to lead the P.G. attack.

Blake Eastman snapped a 1-1 tie late in the second while Liekit Reichle notched his first WHL goal and Connor Bowie put one into an empty net.

The only Victoria goal came from Carter Briltz on a power-play midway through the opening period which tied the game at that point 1-1.

The Cougars penalty kill was 2-for-3 and over the four games against the Royals was operating at 92 % going 23-for-25.

Prince George did not have a power-play in the game.

“Really impressed with our group. We showed a lot of maturity by the way we played, we did the right things and locked it down in the third period,” said Associate Coach Josh Dixon. “We did a good job of managing our emotions and did a good job of managing the game.”

Taylor Gauthier improved his personal record to 2-1 on the season making 28 saves as the Cats outshot the Royals 34-29.

The 4-3 Cougars host the 1-8 Royals again on Tuesday and Wednesday.
