Collision causes power outage for over 3,000 BC Hydro customers

UPDATE 2:13  

BC Hydro has confirmed the incident has been cleared up and power has been restored to the impacted area.

UPDATE 1:39 PM

Prince George RCMP Corporal Jennifer Cooper confirmed a single-vehicle incident on the 5900 block of Chief Lake Road caused the outage.

She says it is unknown if any injuries were reported following the collision.

12:29 PM

Crews are currently on the site of a power outage near Prince George.

According to BC Hydro, the outage was caused by a vehicle accident north of Westcreek Road, and is expected to impact 3,004 customers.

BC Hydro is reporting a large area reaching from east of Salmon Valley to southwest of Chief Lake and south of Reid Lake has been impacted.

Power was reported to be impacted by the collision at 11:30 am.
