1st Avenue motor vehicle incident claims life of a pedestrian

Update 3:30 PM

The Prince George RCMP confirmed to MyPGNow.com the motor vehicle incident this afternoon (Tuesday) at First Avenue between Victoria Street and George Street has claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper stated the investigation is ongoing and more updates could come tomorrow (Wednesday). Westbound traffic has been reopened to single-lane alternating while eastbound traffic remains closed at this time.

The identity of the deceased is not known at this time as the next of kin has not been notified.

Prince George Mounties are investigating a serious motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian at First Avenue between Victoria Street and George Street

“We ask at this time people avoid the area to give First Responders a chance to do their work. We will update when the road is reopened to all traffic,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The Prince George RCMP has made an arrest in relation to a motor vehicle incident involving an ambulance and a pickup truck. Just after midnight on September 5th, Frontline Police Officers responded to the incident at the intersection of Carney Street and 15th Avenue.
