The daytime high in Prince George was a tad bit chillier in October according to Environment Canada.
It was 3.7 degrees celsius while the normal high for the month is 4.5.
Meteorologist, Doug Lundquist explains why the northern capital was slightly cooler than usual.
“I think what happened is that the first part of the month it was close to the average for temperature and precipitation and we had that little cold snap at the end of the month to make it colder than average.”
However, November is off to a soggy start.
“This is a fairly typical pattern for November though, so what we could have in the next few days is some rain overnight and maybe mixed in with some snow but it’s warm enough it will come down as liquid precipitation,” added Lundquist.
In addition, the northern capital was drier than expected in October with just 41 millimetres of precipitation falling – the normal amount is around 63.
As for the winter season, Lundquist mentioned Mother Nature is still on the fence on whether it will be average, below average, or above.
