WHL: (PG Cougars)

The (5-4) Prince George Cougars are on the road for a pair of games.

The Cougars visit the (4-2-1) Vancouver Giants tonight (Friday) in Langley and the (4-3) Rockets Saturday in Kelowna.

The next home games for the Cougars will be on Tuesday and Wednesday against Vancouver.

BCHL: (PG Spruce Kings)

The Prince George Spruce Kings are home for a couple of games this weekend against the Trail Smoke Eaters.

The (7-3) Spruce Kings host the (5-3-1) Smoke Eaters tonight and Saturday.

Prince George is coming off Wednesday’s 3-2 loss against West Kelowna.

BC Elite Hockey League: (Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA & Northern Capitals Female U18 AAA)

The (5-5-1-1) Cariboo Cougars visit the (8-4) Greater Vancouver Canadians Saturday night at 5:00 and Sunday afternoon at 1:30 in Richmond. Cariboo is in 7th place in the 10-team league.

The (7-4-0-1) Northern Capitals host the (5-5) Vancouver Island Seals tonight at 6:45 at Kin 1 in the first of a triple-header. They also meet Saturday night at 6:00 at Kin 2 and Sunday morning at 8:15 at Kin 1. The Capitals are in 2nd place in the 5-team league.

Canada West basketball: (UNBC Timberwolves)

The UNBC Timberwolves have their home openers this weekend in Canada West basketball.

UNBC will host the Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack tonight at 6:00 (women) and 8:00 (men) and Saturday at 4:00 and 6:00 PM.

The Timberwolves are 1-1 in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

The TRU women are 0-2 and the TRU men are 1-1.

NBA:

The (6-3) Toronto Raptors host the (5-4) Cleveland Cavaliers tonight (4:30 PT).

The Raptors are riding a 5-game winning streak.

NFL: (Week 9)

Indianapolis  45  New York Jets  30

A dozen more games will be played Sunday, including Green Bay at Kansas City, Arizona at San Francisco, and Tennessee at LA Rams.

Jordan Love will start at quarterback for the Packers, taking over from Aaron Rodgers, who has been placed in the NFL’s COVID Protocol.

CFL: (Week 14)

The B.C. Lions will try to snap a 5-game losing streak when they visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats tonight (4:00 PT).

The other Friday night game in the CFL has Saskatchewan at Edmonton (6:45). The Elks have lost six in a row.

On Saturday, Toronto visits Ottawa (1:00 PT) followed by Montreal at Winnipeg (4:00).

Standings:

West: Winnipeg 10-1, Saskatchewan 7-4, Calgary  6-6, B.C. 4-7, and Edmonton 2-8
East:  Toronto 7-4, Montreal and Hamilton 6-5, and Ottawa 2-10.

City Council orders nuisance activities stop at Quentin Avenue property

Prince George City Council took action to address a nuisance property at tonight's (Monday) meeting. According to a staff report to Council, the property, located at 4235 Quentin Avenue, has been the subject of 25 calls for service from Bylaw Services, as well as 19 visits from the RCMP since July 2024.
