The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) has cleared the Vanderhoof RCMP of any wrongdoing following a February incident.
Mounties were called to a home on the 1000 block of Kenny Dam Road for a well-being check, locating two women and a man inside.
The man was bound by court-ordered conditions not to be in contact with them and was arrested, however, a struggle ensued.
He was assessed by BC Emergency Health Services at the detachment before being taken to the hospital.
According to the IIO, the man did sustain a serious injury in the process but ruled the actions of the police were not unreasonable.
