RCMP have confirmed there were serious injuries sustained following a crash in Vanderhoof.
Just before 10:00 this morning (Sunday), police were called to a collision at Saranovich Rd approximately 10km east of Vanderhoof on Highway 16.
Upon arrival, officers determined that due to the severe road conditions and seriousness of the motor vehicle incident, the road would need to be shut down to investigate.
North District Traffic Services and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service were called to the scene.
The highway was shut down in both directions for several hours before reopening just before 5:30 p.m.
Details about the victim(s) have not been released.
Vanderhoof RCMP advise the public to not be on the roads if they don’t need to be as the conditions are very treacherous.
