Cougars prepare for four-game home stand against Giants, Rockets

The Prince George Cougars return for some home cooking this against a pair of BC Division rivals.

A string of four games in five days will feature the Vancouver Giants and Kelowna Rockets.

Here is What is on Tap for this week:

Tuesday, November 9th, vs. Vancouver

  • It’s “Midweek Madness” as hotdogs are just $2 and select beer is $5 (plus tax).
  • Jim’s Clothes Closet Monthly MVP Ceremony: Pre-game ceremony announcing the Cougars’ October MVP.
  • Prince George Sock Toss: Lucky fans will have a chance at winning FREE Prince George Socks during the first period.
  • 1st Intermission: Pizza 73 Shootout. Two fans will compete to win a free medium meal, plus Pizza 73 coupons for their entire section.
  • Buskers Corner: Live music with DJ Ant.

Wednesday, November 10th, vs. Vancouver

  • Tim Horton’s Night.
  • It’s “Midweek Madness” as hotdogs are just $2 and select beer is $5 (plus tax).
  • Tim Horton’s giveaways: One fan will compete to win a Tim Horton’s gift card during the first period. Lucky fan will have a chance at winning NHL Superstar Collectable Sticks during the third period.
  • 1st Intermission: Target Toss. Three fans will try to throw objects from the stands closet to centre ice, with the closest winning the night’s grand prize.
  • 2nd Intermission: Chuck-a-Puck in support of Rated PG Roller Derby.
  • Buskers Corner: Live music with Duces Wild.

Friday, November 12th, vs. Kelowna

  • First Intermission: Pizza 73 Bowling. Two fans will compete to win a free medium meal, plus Pizza 73 coupons for their entire section.
  • 2nd Intermission: Chuck-a-Puck in support of Rated PG Roller Derby.
  • Buskers Corner: Live music with Duces Wild

Spruce Kings hand Surrey 11th straight loss

The Prince George Spruce Kings kept the Surrey Eagles out of the win column with a 5-2 decision. The Spruce Kings opened the scoring early, with Marcus Lougheed scoring on the powerplay 2:47 into the opening period. 

Cougars fall to T-Birds in tight affair

It was a tight, physical game right until the end, but the Prince George Cougars dropped a 4-3 decision to the Seattle Thunderbirds."We got chasing the game a little bit but we got back in it, it was a hard fought game by both teams," said Cougars Head Coach and GM Mark Lamb on the post-game show on 94.3 the Goat.
