After eight of 14 games, Canada, a country that has not been to a World Cup since 1986, is first in its CONCACAF World Cup group.
Canada (4-0-4) is one point ahead of the USA, and two in front of Mexico and Panama.
The top three qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, while the fourth-place team gets a final chance to qualify via an intercontinental playoff.

The (5-9-2) Vancouver Canucks host the (6-5-1) Colorado Avalanche tonight at 6:00 to begin a 3-game homestand.
The Canucks also entertain Winnipeg on Friday and Chicago on Sunday.
Vancouver is coming off a 3-game road trip, where they lost all three by a combined score of 19-6.

The (12-5-0-2) Capitals are in first place in the Female U-18 AAA division, four points ahead of the (11-1) Rush, however, Fraser Valley has seven games in hand.
The Prince George-based Capitals will not play another league game until January 7th.

CFL: (Week 16) Make-up game

The (4-9) B.C. Lions host (3-10) Edmonton Friday night at 7:30 in the final game of the season for both teams.
The Lions have lost seven in a row.
In other action this weekend: Ottawa visits Montreal Friday (4:30 PT), Saskatchewan is at Hamilton Saturday (1:00) and Winnipeg plays at Calgary Saturday (4:00) to conclude the regular season.

The UNBC Timberwolves will host the UBC Thunderbirds in Canada West basketball on November 26th and 27th.
The UNBC women are 3-1 on the season while the men are 2-2.
