Marc-Andre Fleury blocked 40 shots for the shutout. The (6-11-2) Canucks finished 1-2 on a three-game homestand and will play their next five on the road starting Wednesday (4 PM PT) against the Penguins in Pittsburgh.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars went 2-4 on a 6-game homestand after splitting a pair against the Tri-City Americans.

The Cougars lost 4-3 on Friday but came back with a 4-2 victory Saturday.

The Cougars ended a 4-game losing streak before 2,019 fans at CN Centre.

Prince George led 1-0 after each of the first two periods before scoring three more times in the 3rd, two of those goals 17 seconds apart.

The (7-10) Cougars play their next six on the road starting Saturday in Kelowna against the (8-4-0-1) Rockets

The Americans built up a 4-0 lead by the midway point of the game and then held on for the victory before 1,813 fans.

BC Elite Hockey League: (Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA)

The U-18 Cariboo Cougars visit the (5-9-1-1) Thompson Blazers Saturday at 2:45 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in Kamloops.

The (5-7-1-1) Cougars are in 8th place in the 10-team league and were idle this weekend.

Monday Night football to conclude Week 11 of the NFL season has the (3-6) New York Giants at the (6-3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The Bucs are 4-0 at home.

The UNBC Timberwolves will host the UBC Thunderbirds in Canada West basketball on Friday and Saturday, November 26th and 27th.

The UNBC women are 3-1 on the season while the men are 2-2.

UBC is 2-4 in the women’s division and 6-0 in the men’s division.
