WHL:

Seattle Thunderbirds  3  Prince George Cougars  1

The Thunderbirds broke open a 1-1 tie by scoring a pair of goals in the second period.

Seattle outshot Prince George 33-15, including 24-9 over the last 40 minutes.

The (7-12) Cougars have lost six of their last seven and are 0-2 on a stretch of six straight games on the road.

P.G. will visit the (7-10-2-1) Portland Winterhawks tonight, the (5-10-2-1) Spokane Chiefs Friday, and (4-11-2) Tri-City Americans on Saturday.

The Cougars are 4th in the B.C. Division, seven points behind Vancouver and eight back of second-place Kelowna.

Hockey Canada:

 

BCHL:

The (10-6) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (14-2) Penticton Vees tonight.

One of the two Penticton losses this season came in P.G. on October 27th by a 7-1 score.

The BCHL has announced that the league is removing all out-of-conference games for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

This means the Spruce Kings will only play Interior Division opponents the rest of the way.

NHL: (8 Tuesday games) No Canadian teams in action

The (7-14-2) Vancouver Canucks are 1-3 on a 5-game road trip that concludes tonight in Ottawa (4:30 p.m. PT) against the (4-14-1) Senators.

The Canucks have just two victories in their last 11 games and are last in the Pacific Division.

The Senators are last in the overall standings.

BC Elite Hockey League: (Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA)

In a revised schedule, the U-18 Cariboo Cougars will host the (5-11-1-1) Thompson Blazers Saturday night at 4:30 and Sunday morning at 9:00 at Kin 1.

The (7-7-1-1) Cougars are in 5th place in the 10-team league.

Cariboo beat Thompson last weekend in Kamloops, 3-1 Saturday and 2-1 Sunday.

Canada West basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Victoria Vikes Friday and Saturday nights in their final Canada West basketball games in 2021.

The UNBC women are 4-2 on the season while the men are 2-4.

Victoria is 2-4 in the women’s division and 5-1 in the men’s standings.

NBA:

Memphis Grizzlies  98  Toronto Raptors  91

The (9-13) Raptors are 0-2 on a 7-game homestand that continues Thursday (4:30 p.m. PT) against the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks.

NFL: (Week 13)

Week 13 of the NFL season starts Thursday night with (7-4) Dallas at (5-6) New Orleans.

After 12 weeks, Arizona has the best record in the league at 9-2 followed by Green Bay at 9-3.

In the AFC, Baltimore leads at 8-3 followed by New England at 8-4.

The Patriots have won six straight.

CFL:

The CFL division finals will be played on Sunday.

In the East, Hamilton plays at Toronto (9:30 a.m. PT) and in the West, Saskatchewan visits Winnipeg (1:00 p.m.).

The winners meet in the Grey Cup on Sunday, December 12th (3:00 p.m. PT) in Hamilton.
