WHL:

Prince George Cougars  4  Spokane Chiefs  2

The Cougars ended a three-game losing skid by overcoming a 2-1 deficit after 20 minutes.

Prince George scored twice in the second period and added an insurance goal in the 3rd before 3,511 fans in Spokane.

Taylor Gauthier made 28 saves, including a highlight reel stop in the 3rd, as Spokane outshot P.G. 30-22.

First-star Hudson Thornton, second-star Connor Bowie and Carter MacAdams each notched a goal and an assist for the Cats.

Bowie scored the winner at 13:15 of the second.

Jonny Hooker tallied with the man advantage for the Cougars, who went 2/6 on the power-play while the Chiefs were 1/3.

The (8-13) Cougars visit the (4-12-3) Tri-City Americans tonight.

Prince George is 7th in the Western Conference standings, 3 points in front of Spokane and Victoria and five ahead of Tri-City.

BC Elite Hockey League: (Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA)

The U-18 Cariboo Cougars will host the (5-11-1-1) Thompson Blazers tonight at 4:30 and Sunday morning at 9:00 at Kin 1.

The (7-7-1-1) Cougars are in 5th place in the 10-team league.

Cariboo beat Thompson last weekend in Kamloops, 3-1 Saturday and 2-1 Sunday.
