PG residents can ride the bus for free with upcoming Food for Fare event

BC Transit kicks off the Food for Fare event on Wednesday (December 8th) and Prince George residents can pay for a bus ride with a food donation.

“Customers can bring in a non perishable food item and drop it in the box located behind the driver’s seat, and then they get to ride for free,” said Lindsay Taylor with BC Transit.

“We had about 70 items last year, and typically we receive anywhere between 300 and 500 lbs. of food annually.”

Donations to Food for Fare will go to the Salvation Army, and the event runs until Friday (December 10th).
