Down town hotel pushed back after ownership change

Construction on a new hotel in down town Prince George has been pushed back yet again.

A series of design changes on the River City Hotel, has pushed back the date it can start construction.

Also Delta, who originally proposed the new hotel, has been bought out by Marriott.

Developer Rod McLeod says they are currently working with Marriott’s architects.

Delta had one type of hotel to build and of course Marriot has another… at this point we are talking about building a Marriot courtyard”

McLeod says they are hoping to start up construction again in 3-4 months. The new hotel will be larger than the one originally proposed and will no longer feature residential condominiums.
