PG under second Extreme Cold Warning in less than a week

Another Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for the Prince George area.

According to Environment Canada, it’s expected to span tonight and into Wednesday morning.

Other locations impacted by this include 100 Mile, Chilcotin, Cariboo, Prince George, Stuart – Nechako, Yellowhead, McGregor, Williston, Lakes District, and B.C. Peace River.

Meteorologist, Alyssa Charbonneau told Vista Radio we are not out of the woods just yet.

“We are expecting another clear night with low’s dropping to minus 31 and combined with just a little bit of wind it’s going to give some low wind chill values, dragging to minus 40 overnight.”

“After that, we are expecting a gradual, slow warming a little bit we should get us out of that extreme cold region.”

Charbonneau added once the extreme cold finally decides to step aside, a hint of snow will come shortly afterward.

“We are also expecting a couple of rounds of snow. The first one is expected to begin tomorrow (Wednesday) near noon and that could give five centimetres during the day with a little more at night. Then we could see a little bit more on Friday as well.”

Another round of extremely cold wind chill is possible for Friday morning.
