Three UNBC Timberwolves Basketball games postponed

Seven Canada West Basketball games have been postponed, including three UNBC Timberwolves matchups.

According to Canada West, The University of Victoria Vikes men’s and women’s teams, the UBC Thunderbirds women’s team, and the UBC Okanagan Heat men’s team will not enough players available to safely compete due to COVID-19 related protocols.

For the UNBC women’s team, their games against the Vikes (scheduled for January 14th) and the Thunderbirds (January 16th) have been postponed.

For the UNBC men’s teams their game against the Vikes (January 14th) has been postponed as well, and their game against the Thunderbirds on January 16th will go ahead.

Canada West says no reschedule dates have been set yet.

Grizzly bear attack west of Fort Nelson leaves one with non-life-threatening injuries

The BC Conservation Officer Service says a grizzly bear attack near Fort Nelson left one man with non-life-threatening injuries.  According to a Facebook post from the Conservation Officer Service, the attack took place at 11:00 this morning near a remote, fly-in location approximately 110 kilometres west of Fort Nelson, where a group was working in the area. 

Final touches being made for Special Olympics BC Games

With a flag raising Monday, a Torch Run on Wednesday, an opening ceremony on Thursday, and competitions on Friday and Saturday, the Special Olympics BC Games are set to bring plenty of excitement to Prince George this week.
