Prince George City Council meetings streams will have closed captioning

Prince George City Council meetings will be more accessible to people with impaired hearing through closed captioning.

The city recently added a closed captioning service that viewers can toggle on and off by clicking the ‘cc’ icon in the bottom right corner of the video stream. The service will also be available on mobile devices.

When closed caption is turned on, text will appear on the screen below the video.

According to the city, the closed captioning is captured through an artificial intelligence, so there may be inaccurate spellings or interpretations of words, depending on how they are said.

Live Council meeting webcasts are available on the City’s website.
