UNBC to host Fishing Derby at West Lake

The Fish and Wildlife club at UNBC is going to be Keepin’ it, Reel.

The group is hosting its annual Fishing Derby tomorrow (Saturday) at West Lake.

Fish and Wildlife Club President, Amber Watt told MyPGNow.com it’s all for a good cause.

“The majority of the money is going to Ducks Unlimited because the event is dedicated to Dan Larson. He was a past fisher graduate at UNBC and the event is dedicated in his name because he was an avid waterfall hunter.”

Some of the prizes include the longest fish, the smallest ugliest fish as well as a hand augering competition.

The event runs from 10 am to 3 pm. Registration is $10. Kids 12 and under are free.
