PG Police arrest impaired driver after pursuit in College Heights

The Prince George RCMP caught an impaired driver following a stunting incident in College Heights.

Just before 9 pm on Thursday (Feb 10th), witnesses stated the motorist was swerving in his lane and almost caused a crash while passing.

Officers then located the vehicle along the 63-hundred block of Southridge Avenue where the driver was stunting and doing doughnuts.

Police then attempted a traffic stop, but the driver left the area at a high rate of speed and drove through a red light.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper told MyPGNow.com the chase finally came to an end a few hours later.

“He was later observed pulling into a driveway of a residence in College Heights before midnight and police were able to arrest the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and he was brought back to the detachment to provide a breath sample.”

“It’s just a really good example of how impaired driving does affect everybody on the roads and that puts everybody on the road at risk.”

The driver received multiple violation tickets and the vehicle was impounded.

The motorist will now appear in court at a later date and the matter is under investigation.
