MacAdams and Brennan provide one-two punch for the Cougars in Kelowna

With Carter MacAdams leading the offense and Tyler Brennan delivering superb goaltending the Prince George Cougars ended a five-game losing streak.

MacAdams notched a hat trick while Brennan made 44 saves in the Cougars 5-2 victory over the Rockets before 3,400 fans Wednesday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

The Rockets, who had a five-game home winning streak snapped, outshot the Cats 46-28, including 19-11 in the first period.

Prince George led 1-0 after one on a Cayden Glover goal before MacAdams went to work.

The 17-year-old winger from South Surrey tallied the only two goals in the second before completing the hat trick midway through the third.

Ethan Samson added a power-play goal for the Cats who went 2/4 with the man advantage.

It was the first time in their last 11 games the Cougars have scored more than two goals.

Prince George is 3rd in the B.C. Division and 6th in the Western Conference, three points ahead of Vancouver with the (18-23-2) Giants holding four games in hand.

The (19-25-2-1) Cougars play the (26-12-1-3) Rockets again on Friday and Saturday with those games in P.G. at CN Centre.

Prince George is 4-17-1-1 against the top five teams in the Western Conference and 15-8-1-0 against the four teams below them in the Conference.

Notes

MacAdams now has 10 goals on the season. He extended his goal streak to three games. MacAdams has five goals in his last three. Prince George is now 2-4 in six games against the Rockets. The Cougars handed the Rockets just their second home loss since December 28th.
