Cougars sign ’05 forward Nolan Chastko

The Prince George Cougars have added another forward to the mix.

16-year-old Nolan Chastko has signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement and was added to the Cougars 50-man protected list prior to Training Camp.

The Brandon product is playing for the Brandon Wheat Kings U18 AAA in the Manitoba U18 Hockey League (MU18HL).

The 5’8″, 145-pound forward has 53 goals and 81 points in 42 games, and is the top goal scorer in the MU18HL.

“Nolan had a strong training camp in September and since has had an exceptional season in Manitoba,” said Cougars Director of Scouting Bob Simmonds.

“He has shown the ability to be a true goal scorer. His overall play has earned him this opportunity. We are thrilled to welcome Nolan and his family to the Cougars organization.”

Chastko has played his entire minor hockey career in Brandon. During the shortened 2020-21 season, he scored 7 goals and 10 points in eight games as a 15-year-old at the U18 level.
