Rogers Hometown Hockey coming back to PG after seven-year hiatus

A major hockey celebration is coming back to BC’s northern capital for the first time since 2015.

Rogers Hometown Hockey will be held in Prince George from April 9 to 11.

It will include a festival at CN Centre as well as a nationally televised Sportsnet broadcast.

The event will tell the stories of local upcoming talent and alumni.

It will be hosted by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone.

“On behalf of Council, I would like to thank Rogers Hometown Hockey for bringing the tour back to Prince George for a second time. We are looking forward to participating in another fantastic weekend with the Hometown Hockey team, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to show the rest of Canada what makes Prince George such a great place to live and play. We invite residents to join Ron MacLean and Tara Slone outside for the broadcast, and to participate in all of the events over the weekend,” said Lyn Hall, Mayor of Prince George.

“Council would also like to thank City staff for working with Rogers Hometown Hockey to help bring this fantastic event back to Prince George.”

The national broadcast will feature the Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens. Further details on the event will be made in the weeks to come.
