Spokane Chiefs  4  Prince George Cougars  3

The Cougars blew a 3-1 lead in the second period to extend their home losing streak to eight games before 1,682 fans at CN Centre.

The Chiefs went 3-for-7 on the power-play, snapping a 3-3 tie in the first minute of the 3rd on a goal by Graham Sward with the man advantage.

The (19-30-2-1) Cougars host the (16-31-4-1) Chiefs again tonight.

Prince George is 7th in the Western Conference, two points behind Vancouver, four ahead of Spokane, five in front of Victoria and six ahead of Tri-City.

The Cougars are 4-21-1-1 against the top five teams in the Western Conference and 15-9-1-0 against the other four teams in the Conference.

Prince George has lost 14 of its last 16 games.

The Spruce Kings have lost six straight following a 20-game point streak.

The (27-23-6) Vancouver  Canucks are 2-1 on a 4-game road trip that wraps up tonight (4:00 PT) against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Vancouver is four points out of a playoff spot with 26 games remaining.

The Canucks are 19-8-4 since Bruce Boudreau took over as coach.

(First round women’s elimination game in Calgary)

The Timberwolves advance to the second round against the #7 Regina Cougars tonight in Calgary.

(First round men’s elimination game in Lethbridge)

Brandon Bobcats  95  UNBC Timberwolves  89  (Thursday)

The UNBC men are eliminated and finished the season with an overall record of 6-13.

It was just the third win in 17 games for the Brandon men.

(U18 Male) 

The U18 Cariboo Cougars conclude their regular season visiting the (24-8-1-1) Vancouver North West Hawks today (11:45 a.m.) and Sunday (11:15 a.m.) in Abbotsford.

The (15-15-1-3) U18 Cougars are 5th out of 10 teams while the (24-8-1-1) Hawks are 2nd.

The U18 Female Northern Capitals wrap up their regular season with a pair of games in Vernon today (11 a.m.) and Sunday (9:30 a.m.) against the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers.

The (21-6-0-3) Capitals are second out of five teams while the (11-17-0-2) Lakers are 4th.

The U17 Cariboo Cougars visit the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds tonight at 6:15 and Sunday morning at 10:00 in Abbotsford.

The (14-17-0-1) U17 Cougars are in 7th-place in the 10-team division while the (22-5-1-3) Thunderbirds are 4th.

The U15 Cariboo Cougars host the Okanagan Rockets tonight at 5 and Sunday morning at 8:15 at Kin 1.
