Peace and Kindness Rally taking place at City Hall Saturday

There will be a ‘Peace and Kindness Rally’ in Prince George on Saturday.

“A group of us got together before occupied Ukraine, and we were wanting to take up some space for gratitude for our community, mostly around COVID-19 and wanting to thank people for everything they’ve done to protect our community,” said Jenn Matthews, one of the people behind the event.

“Russia invaded Ukraine in the middle of our planning, so we really want to tie that into our event, and stand with Ukraine, and stand with Ukrainian people in our community.”

Matthews said people are encouraged to bring signs that support science, democracy, peace, and Ukraine.

“If you have a special message of gratitude you want to share with your community, bring that on a sign, and we’ll just spend some time together,” Matthews added.

The Rally will take place from 1:00-3:00 on Saturday at City Hall.
