BC Transit receives more pandemic relief funds to keep rolling

$28 million is going to BC Transit to cover impacts to their operations from the pandemic.

The provincial and federal governments pooled $204 million, and the rest of the funding is going towards TransLink.

This is on top of the $1 billion that was announced in September 2020 for the Safe Restart funding that also helped those businesses.

BC Transit sent a statement noting that COVID-19 has had profound impacts on public transit around the province.

The statement added that ridership for BC Transit is still currently around 65% of pre-pandemic levels.
